When did OCD start hijacking your life?

A random thought pops up, and instead of letting it go, it sinks its claws in. Suddenly, you’re checking, cleaning, replaying memories, or confessing just to feel okay for a moment. Rituals take more time. Your heart races, your chest feels tight, and panic rises when you try to stop.

You’ve tried pushing the thoughts away, avoiding triggers, or asking people you trust for reassurance. It helps for a few minutes, then the fear snaps back stronger. You wonder, “Will I ever feel normal again?”

OCD therapy at Resolvve focuses on breaking that cycle with clear plans and tools that help you face anxiety without giving in to compulsions.

OCD therapy helps you build healthier ways to cope using affordable mental health methods.

Why OCD Therapy?

This is where you quit playing by OCD’s rules.

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) isn’t about being “a little anxious” or “liking things clean.” It’s a real condition where intrusive thoughts, doubts, and rituals start running your day. Without support, OCD can take over your time, strain relationships, and make school or work feel impossible. OCD therapy helps you break that cycle so your life is led by your values, not by fear, guilt, or “what ifs.”

At Resolvve, online OCD therapy uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you face triggers in small, planned steps and resist compulsions. You learn that uncomfortable thoughts and feelings can be noticed, felt, and moved through, without letting them control what you do.

Sessions are structured but low-pressure, online, and focused on real-life change.

Resolvve has supported more than 600 clients and completed over 5,000 low-cost therapy sessions. Our team is here to help you start feeling better, one session at a time.

The Resolvve Playbook:
Using Approaches for OCD That Work

Our mission is simple: make OCD accessible, useful, and affordable. Together, we use tools to help you understand your thoughts, reduce compulsions, and build a life guided more by values than by fear.

Here is how we do it:

50 or 80-minute online sessions with an OCD therapist who understands obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. Join from anywhere in Ontario.

Use reminders, timers, calendars, and scheduling apps to support focus and consistency. As a frontline therapy treatment for OCD, we use ERP to help you face obsessions, such as images, thoughts, or urges, and practice not engaging in compulsive behaviours, reassurance seeking, or avoidance.

We use CBT to question and shift beliefs like “having this thought means I am dangerous” or “if I do not ritualize, something awful will happen.”

ACT helps you make room for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings and move toward what matters to you, even when anxiety is present.

DBT skills support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and communication, which can be especially helpful when OCD combines with anxiety, depression, or relationship stress.

Depending on your needs, we may also integrate motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based therapies, and behavioural strategies to support long-term change.

Our Approach

How Our OCD Therapy Works

Understand Your OCD Story

We start by getting to know you, your budget, and your insurance, so starting OCD therapy doesn’t feel like another overwhelming task. Then we map out your “OCD story”: when it began, what themes it follows, and how your obsessions, compulsions, mental rituals, and triggers all fit together.

Shift Your Perspective

Next, we use cognitive treatment to help you see intrusive thoughts in a new way. Together, we identify your core fears and challenge the beliefs that keep OCD in charge. You’ll learn that thoughts are not facts, that having a thought doesn’t mean you’ll act on it, and that you can feel anxiety without letting it dictate every move.

Make Real Change

From there, we use ERP and other strategies to help you face OCD triggers while resisting rituals. Step by step, you build healthier ways to cope with anxiety and emotion, reduce compulsive behaviours, and make choices based on your values, not on fear.

OCD Therapy FAQs

Yes, OCD is considered a lifelong condition. However, many people learn how to cope with OCD symptoms in a healthy way so that it no longer has a major negative impact on their quality of life. With the right OCD therapy and support, symptoms can become much more manageable.

While OCD may not fully disappear, many people learn how to live and thrive despite their symptoms. Through a personalized combination of therapy and sometimes medication, you can reduce the intensity and frequency of obsessions and compulsions. Your OCD therapist will help you develop healthy coping strategies, build resilience, and learn how to stop acting out compulsive behaviours.

People with OCD aren’t “crazy.” You might experience intrusive thoughts that go against your values and beliefs, but we are not in full control of our thoughts. Research suggests that most people experience intrusive thoughts. Those of us with OCD just have a harder time filtering them out. Virtual OCD therapy can help you understand these thoughts, reduce shame, and start feeling more like yourself again.

We may never be able to control every thought we have, but OCD therapy can help you learn how to live with and thrive despite intrusive thoughts. By understanding and reframing these thoughts and practicing strategies to resist compulsive behaviours, you can feel more in control of your choices and improve your quality of life.

Yes. Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is considered a frontline treatment for OCD. Research shows that many people make meaningful, lasting improvements with OCD therapy, especially when they practice the skills between sessions.

When Things Start to Resolvve:
Life After OCD Therapy

OCD Therapy doesn’t follow one timeline. Many people feel some relief just from talking to someone who understands OCD. By the third or fourth session, you may start using new skills and noticing small shifts. Progress depends on your goals, your pace, and practice between sessions.
